Hello,

My engine was smoking this afternoon. I have a picture, and circled where it was coming from. The hose I circled is leaking slightly. My questions are, 1) what is the hose. 2) how much would it cost to fix (estimate). It was not a lot of smoke, probably just steam. The gauge never crossed the half way mark so it did not over heat. I am thinking it has something to do with the coolant because I was running low when I checked.

Pretty sure that's a hose for your heater core. Shouldn't be too expensive. Just buy the new hose and swap it in

Yes, that's a heater hose, bought one Monday for a 2000 ranger with 3.0 from napa,, $39.00 with tax.
