The exhaust crosses right under the transmission between the bellhousing and the trans pan. However, there are heat shield right in that vincinity to keep some of the heat off. But that percentage is maybe 20% of the heat deflected. It would be smarter if they somehow had the exhaust cross over by the tailshaft instead.
