A trick I've learned to do to get better gas mileage is to not fill my truck up. I put in maybe at most a half tank if I know all I'm going to do is city driving. Because if you think about it, you're shaving maybe 10 gallons of unncessary weight off and If you're close to a fuel station and don't mind frequent trips it's a worth while trial to take on. Because weight is the enemy and even though our trucks are the lightest of their category, there's still a lot of weight in places that can be helped. Heck I just took my spare tire down and that in and of itsself took 50 pounds off. With it starting to warm up, I don't see the reason to have all that weight back there.
