21% at a "buy here pay here" lot is pretty normal......with excellent credit a normal used car rate is 4%-8%. Since so many buyers at these lots eventually have their cars reposessed, that is the reason for high interest rates. Some lots around here sell the same vehicles a dozen times!!!!!!!!

Insurance was going to cost about $250 a month on top of what I pay now for my Ranger. I refuse to pay about $14K in a 2 year span (car payments, and insurance) for a 2002 Focus. Its not worth that much to me
