Just bought this 2000 3.0L flex, 2wd, auto supercab with 225.70R15's. I brought it back from Iowa, top MPG was 22.9mpg. Town driving only 17.3mpg. Changed the plugs (the gap on old plugs was 0.98) and my City/hwy is 20.5mpg. I was hopping for alot more mpg with the new plugs and wires. But after reading this forum, I'm about average for the 3.0L. The OCT level dosen't seem to mater with this engine like it did in my big truck. Anyone else with a Flex notice that?

Anyone try headers or duals on their ranger? My 150 went up in mpg when I had duals and flowmasters installed. This truck is new to me and I'm not sure where to go to get the best MPGs but I drive 67k per year with my refinishing business, so I'm hoping to get in the high 20's if possible.

Damb 4 banger posting 30's+..... Almost made me want to cry thinking I'm low 20's, this forum is for v6's. Your depressing us with your numbers.
