Default My first 4WD--Question about turning radius

I'm on my first 4WD and have a bit of a stupid question...I've got a 2005 FX4 that I bought used and I've had it in 4WD only a couple of times. Anyway, my question is this...does engaging the 4WD decrease the turning radius of the truck or does it just seem that way to me, or maybe I have an issue. It seems that when engaged, it doesn't want to turn as sharp as it does when not. I know that if both the front and back wheels turn at the same speed and you try to turn, the rear wheels actually seem to push the front into somewhat of a skid...that's why on those little two wheel trail breaker motorcycles, the front wheel actually is faster than the back wheel, otherwise it will throw you. So is this normal or am I possibly experiencing early signs of a problem?

Thanks!
