Default Re: MpG's with a 3.0 or 4.0 what is better?

and not to hurt anybody's feelings but both these v6 motors from brilliant ford are under powered. 207 h.p for a 4.0 is pathetic with only 238 Ft-lb... the new yota's 4.0's DOHC are pushing 270 hp with 278 lb ft torque. Ford still has the same o same o 4.0L sohc since 2001. another example nissan frontier in 2005 4.0L DOHC was available - 261 h.p with 281 lb-ft of torque. But one of my fav numbers is out of the new mustang's 3.7. 305 hp and 280 ft.-lb! now ford you can put that motor in my rig anytime plus with 19 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the open road. If your after mpg in a ranger the 4bangers are the way to go. if your after power in a ranger well your f-ed. 4.0 i guess is your answer even though its not much for a 4L :/
