sta-bil ethanol treatment isnt meant to remove the ethanol, it treats the fuel so that it doesnt go bad as quick as it would if left un treated. ethanol attracts moisture and will evaporate very quickly if left in a vented container. (like a gas tank) the sta-bil treatment is meant to prevent that from happening.
