I am trying to decided if I am daring enough to try to do this job myself. The local ford dealer is telling me the reason there is oil leaking out of it is the oil pan gasket has dry rotted. The special "friend" price for the gasket, drain plug (don't know why), and fresh oil and filter is $375. I already have a purolator filter and some Castrol GTX, and I can get a gasket at the local parts store for $18.99. The only thing is that I have never done anything quite like this before. Think I should give it a shot?
