Default Seats in bed?

My truck is a std cab, so it only seats two and I want to have some more seats for friends. what would be the easist and cheapest way to install one or two seats in the bed? I was thinking of either bolting a bench seat in or putting a couple jumpseats. My buddy says I should go out and buy a carpet kit and have that installed. I have a tonno cover aswell. Im not sure what the law in CA is regarding people in the bed of a pickup w/ a shell in the back. I have n idea which would be best.

Any and all thoughts are welcome
