I buy aftermarket most of the time unless they are not available anywhere other than the dealer. There are some things that you are better off going OEM with. Power steering pumps are an example. The aftermarket power steering pump whined just as bad if not louder than the pump I replaced. I got a Ford rebuilt pump and it was much, much quieter. Sure, any steering pump you buy is going to whine but one shouldn't be able to hear it a block away.
