I've also heard that it is against federal law to do so on a vehicle that comes with them. That its a fine of somewhere in the ball park of 1500 dollars. I guess the reasoning is pollutants and all that jazz.

One of my friends was looking to do that to his impala but backed out after reading that. Just what he told me the last time i asked. I haven't actually read it anyplace tho.
