Default Headers??

Ok, so I've been looking at header for the beast.... I want to make sure I get the right ones if I'm dropping that much coin on em. I have a 99 with egr,, what ar your guys recommendations and what kinda gain did you see, if any? Sorry if there is a post already, I searched...lol

The most gain is in sound.

This vid is pre header install.


And this is with the headers. Same exhaust, FM40 single 3"

Nice!! Did you have to change the y-pipe also? Also, what's the best place to get them? I seen you have the 4.0, does yours have the egr tube from the manifold also?

My truck does not have the EGR. On my 97, I just blocked off the egr spot on the headers

Jba are the only ones for 3.0. They are about 500

waste of money if you aren't doing a full performance build on the engine

I didn't ask for your personal opinion about if it was a waste or not. I asked what kind are good sets. When I want your advice on my financial matters ill ask.

As far as a performance build, it's in the works and I have to buy one thing at a time. I have three kids and a mortgage to worry about too!

It's not necessarily a waste if you do the right upgrades to be able to use the full advantages of headers. A 3.0 can be a beast with the right upgrades.... Don't get me wrong a 5.0 would be a lot better, but I like my 3.slo...lol

It's not necessarily a waste if you do the right upgrades to be able to use the full advantages of headers. A 3.0 can be a beast with the right upgrades.... Don't get me wrong a 5.0 would be a lot better, but I like my 3.slo...lol

I guess so but why I like real hotrod motors. Anyways ive consider headers as well jusy for the sound and i know they flow better.

My first set I eve bought were headman, they were junk and rusted quick like. My current JBA I got on ebay for $50. So I couldnt pass them up...lolz

I had a set of hedeman headers way back in the day on a old 79 ford f150, they rusted out right at the collectors, crap I tell ya!
