I have a 1995 2WD 3.0 that recently died while driving. It's odd because it will start, there's spark, it just won't stay running, almost like it's not getting fuel. Suspected a fuel pump so we replaced that and the fuel filter and the IAC. Still wont stay running, yet it maintains fuel pressure. What else could it be?

A vacuum leak. Check for codes.

Gonna try that. Don't you have to be able to get it somewhere to check for codes?

You can get a code reader yourself. I bought the reader part from Ebay for $15, and a $5 ap for the smart phone. Works like a charm. If that is not an option around here you can get a loaner reader from some stores. Takes like a $100 deposit.

But really, get your own. I've used mine on my truck, my sons, and my girlfriends car.

So I just went to autozone and they tried to sell me the obd1 tester until I read on the back that it works for everything except 1995 rangers and windstars, so I'm guessing obd2 works for my '95 even though it says '96 and up

Doesn't throw a code, but I can't get it started even for a minute to reset the codes. Anyway, replaced the fuel pressure regulator and the dpfe and still nothing.

Do you own a codereader? How did you read the codes?

My brother has an obd2.

Well if you have 40 psi at the fuel rail and good spark at all 6 plugs and you have no codes then I have no idea what is wrong.

first thing you need to do is stop throwing money and parts at it.

How long does the truck run?

Does it just fire but not actually run?

What exactly happened when you were driving and it died? any noise, vibrations...?

You have the 3.0, will a bad cam sensor do this?

You might try the disconnecting one sensor at a time DX technique while looking for a giant vacuum leak.

It fires but does not run. I was driving to work and it just cut out--no vibrations, noises, shutters, or stalls. Didn't hit a bump or anything out of the ordinary. I don't know about the cam sensor though. All I know is whatever it is it caused my car to die while it was driving and cannot run without it. I've got spark and fuel pressure and replaced a bunch of parts, I have no idea where to go next

Hopefully someone with 3.0 knowledge chimes in. I have heard alot of bad things with the cam sensor. But, dont know if it would cause a no run issue.

Are you getting cranking over confused with firing...?

When it fires is there any poping?

I wonder if the cam sensor has thrown the ignition timing out of phase with crank timing...?

If there is compression, you are getting air, fuel and spark, it should run. If the timing is out, that will make it not run, but could/would make it fire
