Default How Fuxered am I

While removing the heater hoses from my upper intake manifold one of the tubes broke off flush with the deck. Is this a replaceable part or am I looking for a salvaged manifold?

I drilled out what was left inside the manifold assembly and mounted what was left of the old tube(after cleaning it up) with some JBweld.

I'll let it set up and give it a tug or two tomorrow before mounting it. I need to run by the dealership to get some exhaust manifold bolts so , I'll run it past them too.

Funny , I was searching the Ford Corporate parts site and in the search field the term " Intake manifold heater outlet tube" appears ,but them it says no search result found..... Go figure!

It's possible the JB weld will hold, but that heat is pretty intense. It is a solid place for a mechanical weld, so keep us posted on how it lasts. I probably would have ran a tap down the hole and die'd the hose and screwed it into it's former self.

The tube isn't threaded. It looks like it has a flange part way up and it is pressed into the manifold. We'll see.
Parts guy at the dealership suggested a visit to the Dorman site but they don't even show a manifold for the 3.0. Looks like I can get a new one for 195$, I'll have to search used parts too

Don't pay that for a manifold. These things are a dime a dozen at any junkyard you go to. It'll be much bigger bang for your buck, and they're not difficult to yank off.

I wound up using a "liquid steel" type epoxy to make the repair and so far so good it's holding watertight.

I'm super happy today, got her smogged and reregistered. Back on the road as of 4pm today. WOOT!
