Default Strange oil consumption after oil change

I have a 1999 Ranger with a 3.0 with around 141, 000 miles on it. I use 10-30 high mileage Penzoil with Lucas oil stabalizer. After I change the oil in it and drive it around for about a day, it loses a quart or so. I can put another quart in it and it'll be just fine until I change it again and it'll do the same thing. It has no leaks nor is it burning oil. Does anybody have a clue what's going on with my motor?

Check your radiator, could be a head gasket.

are you filling the oil filter when you change it? If you fill the oil level to the proper mark (without running the truck) and dont check it after starting, the filter will fill with oil when you run the truck and you will be low when you check it. Randy

It is definitely a good practice to fill the oil filter with oil before putting it on. That way your engine gets full pressure right away when you start the engine rather than have it sit there running for quite a while with 0 oil pressure while the filter is being filled from the oil pump.

Are you putting the correct amount of oil in?
