Default Heard a pop, will not try to start

Went to start the truck tonight. I think I heard a pop from under the hood.

All interior lights and stuff work

All exterior lights and stuff seem to work

Dash lights, buzzers and stuff seem to work

BUT

Nothing when I go to start the truck. no starter, no clicking, no nothing.

Checked the fuses in the door box and under the hood in front of steering wheel, all seem good.

Is there a fusable link or something that I am missing? Location?

Thanks in advance,

Dave

I have determined that most mechanical / electrical challanges are directly connected to the nut that connects the steering wheel to the drivers seat.

That won't be it. The inertia switch just shuts off the fuel pump. It will not cause the problem he is having.

You push it down. It's a button. But, I don't think it is that because it should still crank the started with the inertia switch tripped.

Try to jump the truck and let us know. That is the first step.

Its an 01, check to see if its throwing codes. It could be if you have a remote start they are known to fail after a few years and if there is an alarm attached to it then it could have put the truck on lock down. Check your starter as well.

Wow, your entering the realm of the unknown, expensive (starter), or cheap (Fuse). I would recheck every fuse, starting with the ones regarding the ignition. Then I would check power the the starter. The way you described the pop from under the hood, I'm led to believe it is a fuse or a short.

Ok I have gone through all of the fuses again. Visualy and with a meter, none in the driver door nor top right under hood are bad.

The button thing under and to right of glove box, was down. I pushed it up and then back down, heard the click. that did not work.

If i blew the starter would I get the buzzing sound of it trying to work?

That pop I thought I heard. It did sound like a fuse..... is there any other locations they are found under the hood?

Like what was already said, I would start by checking to make sure you have power to the starter when you crank it over. If not you can start checking fuses and such. If you have power then it is more than likely the starter or, if yours has it, the solenoid just inside the left fender.

Another thing, check the relays maybe you blew one, if you havent already checked it, and get ahold of a wiring diagram to, they can be found in the Chilton books.
