Default cooling delema

i have a 2000 ford ranger 4x4 with the 3.0 , 5 speed , and about 108,000 miles. about aweek ago my truck started leaking coolant. when i got a chance to look at it , the overflow cap came off sraying coolant all over the motor. i topped it off and ran it to operating temp. and itt seemed fine except the bottom rad. hose seemed collapsed to a degree. so i changed the bottom hose, new clamps and i changed the thermostat also. the truck seemed fine for a couple hundred miles and the overflow cap popped off again. i checked to see if there was coolant in the oil- there was none. i tried to get a 14# or a 12# rad cap but the parts store (napa) said all that was available is a 16# cap. any input is greatly appreciated.
