You do realize that when you put this crap into an older engine that loosens stuff up, be it seadouch, atf or whatever else, that the shit you loosen can plug oil lines resulting in low oil pressure issues. Also worth realizing is that some shit that seadouch, stf, etc loosens, if existent in an older engine and odds are there will be some, is in places that actually help compression and lessen oil consumption, like between the rings. So when people use this crap thinking that somehow a clean motor is wise, there are risks they ought to be aware of, and that history has absolutely proven that it does repeat itself. Just a little food for thought.

And you should be. Myself, I'm waiting to learn about someone hydrolocking an engine and bending a few rods due to massive seadouch ingestion in the brake vac line...............
On edit: I've found that the easiest way to keep carbon from building up is to get on it good and hard here and there, and do so on a hot engine. Nice hot carbon, now throw more heat on it, air and combustion products moving at high velocity, bye bye carbon. Like people have done for decades.

He's a car guy and he knows what crap smells like, so I can't wait to hear his smeerky answer to my smart ass question, but it's guaranteed to be funny.

In a way, I have to say that it's about impossible to have much sympathy. After all, and really, anyone taking that one on should realize that liquids are incompressible and flag "the procedure" as being stupid high risk. The other thing would be, if they bothered to look at the only useful procedure, which is decarboning an early 4.0 per the TSB to cure engine knock, they would notice that the vac line used is small and up by the butterfly valve, it's about 1/8" ID and due to location and size, will afford greater odds for some of the cleaner to vaporize as well as control ingestion. Fortunately, I took a pic of that vac line and have passed it around for like, 10 years, and no hydrolocking, either by users or at a Ford dealer.
Look at the bright side, they cured their cleaning problem and the seadouch execs got more profit...........

I will not add it to my oil. As stated above an older engine it causes more problems then it cures. When i was new to cars i added it to my oil in my cherokee, big mistake. But it made a lasting impression on me.
I do use it on a new to me vehicle to run though the vacuum system, and i do use it on a regular basis in my gas. I think it does a good job have seen mpg increases using it. BUT to each their own.

I have the same feeling, although im somewhat new to all this, my dad taught me better than to put any shit except oil in the crankcase, he's been selling parts at ford for 40 years..

First came seadouche, then came scamsoil. Slick 50 is somewhere in between, just a little after STP, Gods greatest cure all (works like adding 90wt to an engine). Nobody is worked up, but I do sometimes laugh so hard I shed a tear or two.

so much hate in this post....
When I first got my 3.0 ran it through 2 tanks before I put in a can of seafoam 1/3 vacuum, 1/3 gas, 1/3 crankcase. Got some smoke but nothing like you see on youtube. (Thank god) Changed to synthetic, changed plugs, wires, pcv, air + fuel filter, got 3mpg difference. Can I say it was b/c of seafoam, prob not, but I wasnt afriad to do it.
After, put another can in my g/fs 4.0 Exploder and noticed gains of about 2mpg. Hers was more smokey, but I didnt do anything elser to her truck.
Once I'm about 1000 miles to an oil change I'll prob Marvel Mystery Oil it, as everyone loves it... about as much as everyone loves seafoam...

Honestly, I do believe in Lucas products.... esp the Power Steering and Trans Stop Leak....
I know it just swells the seals, but so far so good on like 3 vehicles I've owned
