Also after about 3k RPM it doesn't change in pitch, but gets much louder all the way up to around 5-6k RPM. Then when I let off the pedal before the tranny has time to shift, it stops...
Drives just fine, runs fine, just sounds odd and irritating.
Any ideas? I've searched around everywhere with no results.. doesn't seem like alternator whine since I got a new alternator about 6mos ago...
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I've had my ranger 3.2 a year now (4 years old) I've noticed a whine when I put "pedal to the metal" in 2md and 3rd. I'm usually going to fast to try 4th.
Did you find out what it was? Mine is 2017 3.2 manual limited.
Its booked in at fords on 26th so far I've cleaned out the adblue injector, inlet manifold and egr etc it was serviced by fords in november (40k miles service) so had fuel filter etc changed. I've looked for split hoses or loose hoses on air intake and around turbo but cant find a thing. I'm at a loss, yours is the ONLY quote I found online with a similar problem.
