Default need help with transmission!!!

ok me and a few people went to change the valve body gasket in my trans. we did everything we were supposed to but when we got the truck put back together it wouldn't shift at all. every gear(except park) it was wanting to go forward, and the gear shifter will not go into 1st like its not even there. i was thinking we may not have put the servo motor cover in right or something. any help would be appreciated. were going to look at it again tommorow to see if we can figure it out. Please help!!

Sounds like you didn't get the linkage inside the trans hooked up right.

well i just came back from workin on the truck and i thought i would let everyone know that i figured out the problem and fixed it. it was the shifter it wasn't lined up right the transmission was running in 1st in every gear you put it in except park. easy fix! Just thought i would let any one know who has a similar problem.
