Where could I find this? Also is it safe to drive my truck the way it is?

1: Have you googled "Ford Shop Manual"

Nope I googled the aligned tool but I didn't know there was a shop manual online, thanks! And I have a work pickup right now so I'm in the clear but I won't have it for long. I am gonna get to work on it if I get home early enough tonight.

The shop manual is available for PURCHASE online. You can get a Haynes or Chiltons at your parts store.

Oh that's why I haven't seen it. Do you recommend one over the other?

Re: Cam Synchronizer and sensor

The only thing you can do is put the #1 cylinder at top dead center. Since you already installed the new cam sync incorrectly, you can't use the cam sync as an indicator of whether or not you're at TDC. So you're gonna have to make sure the piston is at TDC, and make sure you aren't on the exhaust stroke.

You can fix it yourself, you just have to confirm that you're on TDC Intake.

Thanks so much! I would be doing this but its pouring down rain here :/ At this point I've had a local mechanic take a look at it so I don't have to mess with it. Thanks so much for your help and that thread in particular, it was super helpful :)

Well, if you ever get another 3.0 or OHV 4.0, or 3.8, Explorer 5.0 or 95+ Jeep, etc.....:D

I actually ended up fixing it myself because the local shop didn't want to mess with it. It wasn't hard once we got cylinder 1 to tdc.
