Ive worked at 4 different gas stations...none ever water down their gas..its stupid..water will settle at the bottom of the tank and the pump isnt at the bottom. Next its illegal.
The government comes and checks gas stations regularly.

So no i dont believe any station is watering down their gas....i meam really...when would u see someonr drag a waterhose out to the tanks!!

Some stations will however add their own additives..otherwise all the gas at all the stations are the same! They all come from the same dam pipeline!

Here in Alexandria we have over 15gas stations...and we have a local pipeline station...so all the gas either comes from that station or the one in Minneapolis.
The only difference is when they add their own additives and boosters...

I know exactly what this is, put 93 octane in it, GONE. PROMISE, it's pre-ignition btw.

These engines are designed to run on 87...putting 93 in it will not solve the problem..it only masks it temporarily....and it will get worse and then 93 wont help.

Replace the obvious fuel and spark components: spark plugs, spark plug wires, coil pack, fuel filter, etc...and check the fuel injectors...clean them or replace them.

If its a flex fuel FFV, it will run and adapt to different fuel types....from e85 to 93...but do it a favor and never burn the e85...its crap..

Dump some seafoam in a full tank of gas and let it work its magic.

Then your engine has some issues....and putting a higher octane in it is not solving the problem..its just masking it.....trust me...ignore it and keep using higher octane and eventually the day will come where the higher octane wont help..

Its like putting duct tape over a rust spot....

My trucks recently had all of those replaced except the fuel filter and the injectors have not been cleaned.. Do you think the fuel filter replacement is a good idea?
