I thought Air intakes and High Performance Filters only gave 5-10 mpre horsepower?
Am I right?
ZERO is about the truth. I have never seen one give any extra HP.

As for headers even pacesetters are not much better than stock. No bolt ons easy parts will give you extra power, they are power enablers, you need to feed it more fuel to go along with the more air or its all for nuthin

So new fuel injectors too?

yeah and tuning and internal mods. the best you are going to do without screwing up your junk is maybe 5 or 6 HP

To turbo or SC your motor it needs to be built to handle it or it wont last long........the cheapest best bet would be to find a Tbird Super coupe motor and swap it in

come on man your saying a stock manifold is the same as a header, easy air in easy air out = HP might not be much but it is more than a stock restricting manifold!

Prove the increase from any source other than the MFGR. of the header. Go ahead and try.

They are much prettier and cool looking but the length of the tubes are not long enough to help with any real power gains

If you replaced the stock CAI with a true ram air style CAI and a quality set of headers and complete new free flow exhaust system and larger throttle body, after spending 1,000.00 or more you might in truth pick up 2 HP to the rear wheels and save 2 MPG.

Modern MPI and SMPI computer controlled motors run much higher efficiency than older carbed or throttle body injected motors. upwards of 40% to 50% more efficient that is why simple bolt on parts will give you very small gains

back in the 60's and 70's many V8's used only 10% of the fuel that ran through them. very small improvements in efficient air flow made big changes in performance. High rise manifold and long tube headers with straight pipes could make and extra 20HP because the motors wasted much of what went through them

I've seen benefits from CAI before. Dynoed proof, K&N is the best. However its not enough for me to do it again. I mainly done it for sound, my truck sounds a lot nicer. Just changing out the muffler can make for better flowing exhaust, and you might notice a small leap. People assume you need to increase HP, but many things like CAI, and chips do are just throttle response, and add a little bit more torque.

I am not going to fight a battle with people who disagree. I've stood next to my truck being dynoed and seen the improvement. Most don't have that benefit. My 4.0L ranger is pretty quick off the line. Just taking care of them will help as well. You might notice more of improvement just by simply cleaning the throttle body, and the O2 Sensor...

im not an expert or anything, but if you want the BEST use of the power you have now......wouldnt regearing be near top of the list??? with a DD you would have to keep a certain range 3.73/4.10 ish area so that you still have good high way and city milage.

Show me the dyno's (which are always recorded) and I will believe you. Like I said I have never seen an improvement and have seen many tests

Yeah, too funny. I don't think the relationship of torque and power is understood.

I don't have proof. It was done awhile ago at a university. I know what I saw, and it was an improvement.

Like I said most people are expecting to feel it at the pedal, some do, some don't. I never noticed much difference in anything. I ran it once on the dyno after changing intakes, I also cleaned it, the gain could of been from anything else as its a 4.0L V6 and I had put new plugs and wires on it prior to the second run, and the first run I had just gotten the truck.

Stroker motors are the best way to go. I wish I had the older 4.0L lot easier to do things with those. I do like like my modular design, with the overhead cam though less moving parts, and more reliable long term wise.
