Re: pcv valve?
Hahaha, I concur that the OP was a bit of an ass, but I also agree that Haynes/Chilton aren't always helpful! They'll show you a photo of the part from a camera angle the shade tree mechanic will NEVER see, and zoom in so you don't know WHERE on the car to even start looking!
Just did the PCV valve on my 1999 with the 3.0L vulcan yesterday. I don't know if the later models are going to be the same.
You CAN'T see it, you have to feel for it. Go to the driver's side and reach behind the intake manifold. There's a hose that goes forward under the intake off of the pcv valve, or the pcv valve itself is maybe 5/8" diameter at the base and just sits into the valve cover (I think-- or whatever that surface is). Pull it up and out, there are no clips or anything holding it in, and then pull the valve and the hose out to where you can see them to get the other plastic elbow out of the rubber hose.
It took me a little fumbling to find it the first time, too, but once you know what you're feeling for it's an easy job!
Or if you ever have the intake manifold off for any reason, 10X easier still!
Oh, and do it while the engine's cold, of course (ouch ouch ouch...)
