P0305 and P0306 codes
hey guys, got a problem with the 99. I've been getting both cylinder 5 and 6 misfire codes. I have replaced the plugs with NGK, wires and coil pack and reset the codes only to have them ocme back over and over again. I have officially run out of ideas, please help me out.
Thanks in advanced.

Injectors are fine, I have not checked the compression yet was gonna do that tomorrow. what would be he problem if the compression is off?

Re: P0305 and P0306 codes
burned valves, sticky valve lifters or bad compression rings on the pistons.... You could try an oil treatment with an oil change to see of you could unstick the lifters...

Well its weird because it runs fine except for a rough idle. Wouldnt that effect it significantly?

No, it doesent blink just stays on. And the compression is fine nothing weird or outta place could it be that im using ngk plugs? Somewhere I remember someone saying to only use autolites or motorcraft plugs for the 3.0s. And while driving it seems fine runs smooth no sputtering or stalling

Alright quick update replaced the plugs with motorcaft which pained me to remove my nice NGKs and put in those pieces of crap. But so far no codes, and it seems to be running very well ill update as needed after I get a few more miles on them.
Thanks for the help

Re: P0305 and P0306 codes
Alright so much for false hope, so after replacing my NGK spark plugs with motorcraft plugs, checking the gap on every single one of em, still got a po305 code so I switched the plug wires around to see if maybe it was a bad wire, still got a po305 code.
soooooo this tells me that theres something wrong either inside of the head or block, injectors, or ignition system.....
I pulled the plug and found that it was damp with fuel, no oil on the plug at all, so fuel seems fine, rings are not bad.
any one have any advice on what else I should check? im thinking of pulling my valve cover off and checking the springs and valves, but the compression test didnt show anything out of the ordinary?
any ideas are deffinately appericated.... cuz I am LOST.
