Default heater core plugged?

I am losing coolant out of what looks like a relief valve or open line on the bottom of where the heater core is. my heater is not blowing hot air, the bottom hose to the heater core is hot, the top one is hard to tell. the engine is not running hot but I have had the smell of a hot radiator coming through the ac vents. also if you sit at idle(like going through a fast food drive through) for a lenght of time, when you start driving the cold air from the ac turns hot, then after a while will return to cold air. the temp gauge does not show the engine as hot. It is a 2000 ranger xlt with the 3.0 flex. any suggestions please?

i this "relief valve" inside the engine compartment and sort of inline with the heater hose?

correction....hot air will blow. also when adding coolant to radiator it leaks from the line at the bottom of the heater core, dripping on the o2 sensor and exhaust. any suggestions will be helpful, thanks.

inside the engine compartment coming from the firewall on the pass side.

your truck has a heater control valve. I am not sure where it is on your truck. I did not think it was down by the heater core........it usually is inline with the heater hoses....

thanks, the video is helpful. now could that valve be bad and allow coolant to flow out? it must be a drain line at the bottom where i am losing the coolant from the heater core? when i add coolant to the rad that drain or whatever is flowing coolant out to the ground. thanks

Let's see if someone with a 3.0 chimes in. I am not aware of any relief valve at the heater core pipes.
