Default 5 speed transmission hard to go into gear.

It's an '02 Ranger Edge 3.0 and, it's getting harder every time to shift it into gear. I'm shifting more and more with the rpm's than by depressing the clutch pedal. I've been thinking it may be the clutch slave cylinder but, figured somebody might've been through the same here. I know I have to bring down the tranny to replace the slave and, just want to be sure before hand. Two reasons why I think it might be the slave:
#1-about two months ago the slave reservoir leaked fluid (don't know from where-I saw the crossmember near the p/s wet with fluid). I refilled it and hasn't leaked anymore since.
#2- when it won't go smoothly into gear, it almost feels as if the clutch pedal wasn't completely pushed down-as if I was not pushing the clutch pedal all the way.

ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

If you had fluid loss, and now you're having trouble shifting, it sounds like its time to pull the trans, check the clutch, and replace the slave cyl.

Don't know much about ranger transmission and not trying to hijack the thread.

Could it also be that the synchronizers in the trans are worn due to shifting with rpms and not clutch?

It must've been the slave cylinder because, it is now shifting like a new truck.
