Default Could someone explain to me what "Missing" feels like?

I've done research, but I'd like to hear it from someone who can actually tell me what it feels like.

I've read that it just wont go, or hesitates, or bogs down on acceleration.

Mine doesnt do any of those things, but when it's idling you can feel a small "pull" that's the best way I can describe it.

Runs great, acceleration is even a bit too good.. I find myself way ahead of the pack when leaving a stop light without even realizing it. lol.

I guess as long as it's running good I shouldnt worry too much about it, but it's so near perfect I guess it would be nice if I could tweak it just a bit more and have it run totally smooth.

It is a 2001 with 130K miles on it. So it's not going to run like brand new I realize.

Any help with that would be much appreciated.

(Now I'm going back to the parts store!)

Default Idling at...

I'm not sure exactly.. I'll have to check it out once I get it back together but I'm going to say 1,000. It's not too high on the gauge. I never really paid attention to tell you the truth.

Default Good to go

Ok Justin, I'm idling just above a thousand, just below 1,500. dead center between the two actually. Closer to 1,700 for the first few seconds while it's warming up.

After driving my daughter to school this morning, I was idling at 1,000 at a stop light possibly 1,100.

Yes Blackedge, I did change my spark plugs and wires, actually the weekend before last.

I did this to try and correct the problem, double platinum plugs, autolite pro wires, They didnt have much of a selection on wires. All out of stock at 2 stores.

I'll let you know when I get back Justin. I'll pay attention on my way to school. I was just listening to the squeak, chirp this morning and didnt even take the time to notice.

Fords tend to only like motorcraft plugs.

Really.. I figured I might as well put some good ones in since I read that they would last longer. Plus I didnt want to gap them. lol.

They didnt make those plugs very easy to get to! But it was easier once removing the front tires and the inner splash guard.

But I would be fine if I never had to change that #5 plug again in my life.

Yes, it still pulling/dragging at idle. Not that big of a deal though. Just wondered if someone might know why.

Seem to have gotten some torque back since changing the pulley though. As far as driving goes.

Woah you still need to check the gaps even if they say pregapped. The plugs I got for mine some were gapped correctly and others were like .1 off.

These are Bosch Double Platinum plugs. No gapping required. Double pronged even.
