Default please Help! k&n intake problem

Hello my name is Joe and i am a proud ranger owner. I havent posted before because i do not have a computer. Anyways im having a problem with my baby (sheila) thats my truck ofcourse. My truck had a jerry rigged autozone spectre cai. Well it work ok but it would always throw a check engine light. Which cause me to get a rejection sticker. So i decided since i have none of the stock intake i would go k&n. Heres where the problem starts. I bought a stock m.a.f sensor and housing from autozone (part # dl160) beacuse i had nothing stock. Well the bolt holes on the m.a.f housing do not line up with the k&n filter adapter holes. So long story short my question is did autozone get me the wrong m.a.f? Or did k& n send me the wrong intake. The k&n box says for 02-03 ranger 3.0. Ill attach pics. Please help causw my trucks down with no intake and a nice "R" in my wind sheild. Thanks in adavnce-Joe

p.s sorry but i cant post pics here on my phone. I will upload them to my profile

So you only have the intake and no intake tube to replace the stock one correct?

Nope i have the whole k&n intake kit and tube and all but the m.a.f housing and k and n adapter dont line up. So im not sure if autozone gave me wrong part or k and n did. Does the m.a.f housing look right for the stock 02 3.0?

Does the kit have a place to fasten the MAF sensor if so just take back what you bought and just get the maf sensor screw it on problem solved.
And yes according to the info you gave which is not much the part number is for your engine looks like you dont need all the bs just maf itself. Also they sell adapter kits at Autozone may need one of those take new K&N in with you.

You can take the k&n to the auto parts store and see if they have another ranger sensor that will fit right. Other than that idk haha

The stock m.a.f housing is supposed to bolt to the heat sheild and filter but the m.a.f housing bolt pattern dosent match up with kand n bolt pattern. Leading me to belive one or the other is incorrect

No problem. Hope everything works out. I had a k&n filter In my truck which gave me great power but wasted a lot of gas so I went back to stock. I'm just gonna put a drop in k&n later on.

Why don't you just cut the flange off and clamp the filter on or drill new holes in the adapter?

That looks like a Nissan 300zx maf not ranger

i would mod it to work but it was expensive so i wana figure out the right solution. Also it comes with gasket for the heatshild which i cant mod for a air tight fit there too small. Right now im thinkin its the wrong maf housing?
anyone have an 02-03 stock intake with a pic of the maf and housing so i can compare?
