Default no egr valve

So for the past 2 months I've been trying to get my Ranger to pass smog to no avail. my most recent test gave me these results

HC(PPM): 15mph-119 25mph-75

CO(%): 15mph-0 25mph-0

NO(PPM): 15mph-2824 25mph-2552

and just earlier i was looking around under my hood and found no EGR valve and I couldn't find my dpfe sensor. I also noticed one of the 3 small tubes coming from the main vacuum is not actually plugged into anything but plugged up with a screw. so I'm wondering if it would be possible for me to put in an egr valve myself or if the dpfe sensor is enough and I'm just not finding it.

any and all info is welcome.

There never was an EGR valve on a 92 3.0L Ranger. No DPFE on any 92 Ranger. If it didn't need EGR to pass when certified, you shouldn't need it now.

You listed your test numbers but did not give the max allowable values for your 92 truck to pass. Is it only failing NOx?

ooh my mistake, these are the maximum allowed rating for each

HC:15mph-127 25mph-75 CO:15mph-.55 25mph-.69 NO:15mph-721 25mph-623

and ye NOx is the only one that fails

High NOx can be caused by the A/F being biased toward the lean side. Some things to check: vacuum leaks, dirty injectors, low fuel pressure, tired O2 sensors.
