Hello, I have a plan for my 94 3.0 xl 4x4 but I need info on the subject. I want to do a swap or stroker kit for my ranger but ive few options options floating around my head:

1. Buy a new 3.0 for $1200, drive my current engine untill it dies, stroke out the new engine I puchased while I wait
(Originally I wanted to just stroke out my engine but its seems stupid to add new parts to an engine with 150 k). Thats option one....

2. Find out what does a direct swap with my older truck, (perfectly fine with a 4.0) I need to know what years and models of vehicles match up with my 94 xl.


Let me hear it, option 1 or 2. Also a few more questions one the subject:

-if I swap a bigger engine do I need a new/different trans/rear axel/gearing/ because of the speed and power?

-would the added speed and power mess anything up with the 4x4?

Its possible that with a bigger engine u will need, the transmission, radiator, and rear end axle...
Personally if your going to go bigger, don't go from a 3.0 to a 4.0, just go straight to the 5.0, and get yourself a donor explorer with everything u need.

Can I just get a 5.0 engine and trans out of an old mustang? If so what years would be best.
