I am new to this. But i just bought a 2004 Ford ranger 3.0 with 112,000 miles last week and there is a CEL on. While the truck is sitting there it idles rough, and after a few minutes of idleing its has a bad miss. Codes are P0316 and P0302 misfire on cylinder 2 and so on..you know the rest. I am at school right now and i am not at home where i can start looking into the problem. The missing goes away as soon as you start to accelerate. I saw on another forum where a guys plug wires were arcing. So i took mine out and saw the same arcing at night. I am hoping new plug wires can solve the problem and it is not the recessed valve problem. Wondering if you guys had any input on this. Please let me know if you think plug wires will solve the problem.

testing the wires will be a good place to start... only you will know if these are the fix or not.
