Right under your intake is where it should be. In mine its got a 4 inch long piece of pipe with the hose attached to it. It's got a sensor next to it to. My radiator is leaking low on the bottom drivers side where a fitting goes into it with a hard steel line. It's a slight leak. If you wanted to test your system you can get a tester that puts pressure on your whole system and it might let you see where it is leaking from by pushing fluid out. The other thing is my radiator cap is getting weak being it is 13 years old. You might need to get a new one. Mine is supposed to hold 16 psi of pressure but only actually holds around 10.5 at the moment. I'm just waiting to get paid at the moment so I can take the whole thing apart, flush my system and then fix the radiator and replace the cap.

Thermostat housing can get hot and warp. I haven't seen it happen myself but not unheard of. The other thing is that the gasket can go out there. And it's amazing the littlest leak can make for the biggest puddle sometimes!

Lol that would be bad ass, I'm helping a buddy put a 12v Cummins in his F350 right now. But the cost of a cummins = ouch. The cost of a radiator thermostat and some misc parts probably 2-300 bucks lol. I'm a diesel freak but the 3.9 liter cummins would probably cost more than your truck to buy and make work.

3.slow! If you are going to do a cummins swap the biggest I know you can stuff in your truck is the 3.9l 4 cylinder Cummins B series. You can make the whole engine if you find the right one run with hardly any electronic stuff except basically the starting circuits for the starter, and the fuel shut-off solenoid for the injection pump. It is not an easy swap, plus you have to think about gauges and how you are going to get everything else to run in the truck because you can't use for PCM for the engine, but you need it to run some of the rest of your stuff. Plus the tranny as well.

If I blow up my engine I'm putting a 4.6 liter in out of an Exploder and making it look factory. I never understood why they didn't offer it in the Ranger.
