Smog fail-need help
My '98 failed smog at the 15mph NOX emission. I'm being told the cause is a lean fuel mixture. I've had all the systems checked, changed the IAR, changed the Vacuum Solenoid, and cleaned the Mass Air Flow sensor. My Cat Converter is working fine too. Any suggestions? I'm out of time.

You need to get a code reader and check for pending codes . Or we could guess for you and you can throw parts at it.

Re: Smog fail-need help
Oops, I meant to abbreviate Idle Air Control. But like I said before, it's been on a computer and all the systems are functioning normal. Just thought I'd put it out there in case anyone had similar smog issues.

Something has to be wrong. Is it running hot? How many miles on it? ...go buy a scanner and frequently check for codes.

No, it's running normal temp. It has 152K miles. I need to get a scanner, thanks!
