Default 3.0 died in drive now hit the key and nothin

i was working in my truck and i was just moving it up a few feet and it just died going bout 5 mph. so i hit the key to start it and it does nothing. battery is fine so why wont it try to turn over. i crossed it over at the solenoid and it turned over fine but wouldnt start.i check all the fuses and none were bad. when i turn the key on and everything lights up why is the check engine light not coming on with everything else?

The inertia switch is just a push button you don't have to hold it for ten seconds. Also that switch wouldn't cause the truck not to turn over, it would just cause it to crank and crank and crank, all that does kill the fuel pump.

And to me it sounds like a neutral safety switch. Try turning the key on and shifting the truck to neutral then trying to start it.
