Get a superchips flashpaq 1865.
It will give u a little more horsepower, more torque, and change shifting points and pressure.
But don't expect it to fly down the street, its not red bull, it won't give it wings.

Its a 3.0, a reliable engine, to get u from point A to B. Its a work truck and can be a fun mud or trail truck, but it will never be a sports car or drag racer.

When u are in the market to buy a vehicle, you should consider your options, what u can afford, what u want, and what u NEED.
Having more power, performance, is a want, not a need. What you need is a dependable reliable mode of transportation. If the Ranger is what you bought after you have considered your options, then be happy it met your NEEDS.
If it gets you to school or work, and gets you home, then it's doing its job.
You have to come to accept that it is what it is, and there is very little yiu can do, on a budget, to increase power and performance.

And no a mustang is not too dam expensive, if u get an older used one, of course a brand new one off the showroom floor will be expensive.
If i wanted more power and wanted a mustang, I could easily sell/trade my 99 Ranger in and get like a 94-99 mustang within my cheap budget and have plenty of power and performance.
Nobody said when u want power and performance that u should get a "brand new" sports car.

Its a 3.0 Ranger, its reliable and dependable. Love it or hate it.

I do agree CitySlick, but First, is your truck a 3.0 or 4.0?
If it is a 4.0, why are u hanging around the 3.0 section? Lol
Secondly, even in the 4.0 section there are people wanting more power and performance from their 4.0s.
And compared to a 5.0, a 4.0 is a 4.slow too.
No matter what size motor it is, a 2.3, 3.0, 4.0, and even 5.0, people will always want more.
Again your signature doesn't specify what motor u have. But you do state that it is "Superchips Flashpaq Tuned" which tells me, no matter what motor u have, u wanted more performance so u bought a tuner.
Since your signature says 2006 FX lvl 2 I must assume its a 4.0.

Go over to the mustang and Camaro and corvette forums, its the same crap over there, they always want more power and performance and they want it cheap, lol.

Just stating the obvious that everyone wants more and never seems satisfied with what they have the way it is.
And as I stated earlier, I agreed, im tired of all the "more power" questions.
But this is a forum and we should try to help and tell them the truth.

That's partly true.
What I am saying is dude, that in your own signature you have "Superchips Flashpaq Tuned" listed. So u wanted more performance and power and u bought a programmer tuner, u didn't go out and buy that sports car.
See the irony?

When someone asks what can they do to get more performance and power "out of their RANGER", instead of telling them to get a sports car, tell them to invest in a programmer tuner like the flashpaq, like what you did.

difference is that a 4.0 is actually able to be built, boosted, etc for a decent amount of money. $30 per hp increase with a bama supercharger kit is rad. cams, lifters, etc. that you can actually see a performance increase out of is rad. dumping a bunch of money into a 3.0 to make it less reliable and only be as powerful as a 4.0 is not rad.

Yes but that isn't my point. My point is that no matter what someone has, they will want more power and performance out of it, they are never satisfied.
It doesn't matter what the costs are or how pheasable it is, or how rad it is or isn't, everyone always wants more.
2.3L owners want more, 3.0L owners want more, 4.0L owners want more, even 5.0 owners will want more and more.
Its the human way. Even if u had a Ferrari, eventually you will grow tired of it and want more and more. That's why technology and engine tech advances year after year. A guy with a 1987 Ferrari will want to get a new 2013 Ferrari because it's faster and has more performance.
You will always want more, u can't be happy with what u have, at least most people can't.

Guys at work tell me i waste my money on my Ranger, putting in a lift and bigger tires, and etc. They say a Ranger isn't worth putting money into. They don't know or care what engine it has, they just see it as a Ranger. And say I should invest in a real truck, a full size one.
It goes down to this, its my money, my time, my truck, I will "spend" (not waste) my money one what i want.

People who want to spend money to increase power and performance in their 3.0s have many options, yes its not alot, but there's a few. Like stated in my previous post, a superchips flashpaq or other programmer tuner is one option. Then there's the under drive pulley set up, maybe cold air intake, exhaust, and if u have more money, a supercharger. Options are there. It is for them to decide if it's a waste or not. The whole telling them to get a sports car thing is just crap. They want to know what options they have to increase power out of their Ranger, not what option they have in vehicles that they can buy that have more power.
Its like me asking what can I do to better insulate my home for the winter to save on heating. And then u telling me to buy a new energy efficient house, well thanks captain obvious.
