belt tensioner pushes belt forward
Hi I have a 99 ford ranger and have had a chirping noise for a couple week and I know that its not the cam snycro, we have found that the belt tensioner it pushing the belt forward so the belt rides on the front edge of the belt tensioner pulley, and its making the belt rub on the water pump pulley and its chirping till it warms up a little and its tearing the side of the belt a little. When I move the belt to the center of the pulley its fine for about 5 seconds untill it pushes the belt forward.
How can I keep the belt to ride in the center of the pulley? Is the tensioner belt?
Also is there a grooved tensioner pulley for my year and not a smooth pulley?
How can I fix this?
Thanks
