Default No O/D off

First post on the boards... I did a quick search but didn't turn up much having to do with the o/d off switch not working, mainly posts about o/d in general not working. Anyways.

My girlfriend owns an 01 3.0 AOD and her O/D off switch on the shifter isn't working. I told her to check the fuses and wiring, she told me they were both fine (took apart the steering column and said nothing was frayed or shorting due to a loose connection) so I'm wondering what else it could be. Spoke with her on the phone a few minutes ago and she said she was looking for a tranny shop...I don't want her taking the truck to a tranny shop, as she will most definitely be robbed. Which fuse controls o/d off? It's entirely possible she checked the wrong fuse (she mentioned something about a solenoid; I don't think, in my experience with cars, that she is looking at the right "fuse"). I guess it could be entirely possible that it's a computer issue or a short somewhere else, though I don't know where. I'm away from her working for the next couple weeks so I won't be able to OBDII scan; she has not told me about any CEL lights or O/D off lights or any dash lights at all. Any help is appreciated, I'm just worried she's going to get charged an arm and a leg without actually needing a shops assistance. Thanks.
