Default What year explorer 5.0 will fit my 2005 ranger
I am thinking of swapping my motor with a 5.0 explorer motor but what years will fit with my truck that will still pass smog and be able to bolt in with lil mods.

Well you would have to get everything from the explorer like the wireing harness, ecu, and so on. Then you will have to get the truck barred at your local DMV.

If your truck is an 05, i would look for the following motor years and stuff to swap (2004, 2005, 2006)
If you go older than 2004, you may have issues, maybe not, im not certain.

I need to keep an eye out for a wrecked one that has everything had to find a cheaper 04-06 explorer.
