Default 99 XLT Pan Gasket..

Howdy all. I have devloped a leaky oil pan gasket. When I took a look under the motor I can see the front of the gasket has pushed out a bit and what is where it seems to be dripping from. It does not seem to be ripped at all. For a temp fix I was thinking of losening the bolts and putting it back in and sealing it up.

How big of a job is it to replace the gasket? I read you need to lift the motor a few inches to get the pan out. Would I be safe just droping the pan enough to get the gasket on?

Experience with this situation would be great!

Yeah that will great. I replace my oil pan gasket on my 91 and just dropped the pan enough to get the gasket around the oil pickup tube.

Oh yeah. And raise the motor up as far as it can go.
