Unhappy Over-Heating issue

Hello all, I have recently been having a few issues

I have a 2000 Ford Range XLT Supercab Stepside 3.0 flex.

Recently I started hearing what sounded like boiling water coming from under my hood. (I recently had a blown head gasket replaced). So I took a look at the radiator and it seemed like it was very brown and rusty looking.

I completely drained and flushed the system, refilled all fluids.
Since that time the temp gauge keeps going up to the point the check gauges light comes on.

I noticed today that it mainly happened when I am stopped and idling, however if I put it in neutral and rev the engine to about 2-2.5 on the RPM gauge it immediately starts to cool down.

I am totally confused here, the heat still works.

I did make a mistake when I flushed the system and used bars-leak, the one with the pellets.... did not read on this site until after the fact to not use that stuff.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Is your water pump original? The brown coolant is possibly caused by a rusted water pump impeller, which wouldn't do its part in passing the coolant. Problem is, the only way to know for sure would be to pull the water pump off to check it. Before you do that, though, check simple things like your radiator (make sure that it isn't covered in dirt or anything else on the front and back, and make sure that it isn't plugged with rust, silt, etc.) and radiator cap. Also, is your clutch fan working as it should?
