Yea but in any case, read the seafoam instructions and other FAQs on the site, good stuff there.

I had a guy on here tell me that seafoam was an abrasive, and that u needed to change the oil asap, because it is bad to stay in the oil. I called him out on it, its not an abrasive at all, its a dam lubricant. I quoted the info on the website, posted links to it, and he still didn't believe.

If you are only cleaning your intake with it, it has nothing to do with the oil.

A Ford mechanic told me to never use it again, it does more harm than good.

And u listen to ford mechanics? There's ur first problem. They are worthless liars and they want your truck to break down so u will bring it in and they can make money.

Hell I had an old 84 ranger, one of the big kinda full size ones, looked like an f150 really, had a 302, it was a beater of a truck, a rust pile, ran like crap. A dose of seafoam, it ran great, got mw thru the winter and summer, while I saved up some money to have a new motor put into my 99 ranger, which went to shit because of the ford mechanics.
I had just had my 99 ranger barely a year and half, it started running like crap. I changed the plugs, noticed one of them had detonated, the white porcelain was busted. Took it into the ford place, they said it needed new fuel injectors. So I dropped $700 into all new injectors.
Guess what, it still ran like crap. Then they told me, the cylinder and pistons were damaged because the bad fuel injectors caused it to run lean, and detonated the plug, damaging the piston/cylinder. And I would need a new engine. Then why the hell did they have me blow $700 for new injectors for a shot motor!

Then back in high school, my first ranger, a 95 2.3l 5speed, reg cab ranger, I took it into a different Ford place for a tune up, u know sparkplugs, plug wires, oil change, radiator flush, all the good stuff. Spent about $300.
Then my heater wouldn't work, and its dead of winter, snow and freezing, and that heater use to get real hot and literally burn your legs, lol. But now nothing, no heat no defrost.
I take it back, talk to the service guy. They look at it, and tell me its the vent door inside the dash, its broken. They wanted like $15 for the door and $50 an hour for 10 hours to take apart my dash to replace it. Sorry im not paying $500 for that to replace a $15 part. I was pissed, it worked when I brought it in and they broke it and wanted me a 17 year old at the time, to fork out money. I cussed the manager out. Told him I would buy the part and I would do the labor myself and if it turned out that it wasnt the door and they had wasted my time, I would send them a bill or see them in court.
My dad came down to the shop, he was pissed at the manager too.
Anyway, they said they would look at it again to check it. My dad and I watched them this time. Well the mechanic found a vac line that he said was melted, this vac line controls that door. And that hide wasnt melted, it was cut!! Mt dad called the guy out on that, said melted my ass, that's been cut!! He went back to the manager and had another talk with him.
And we never went back to that dealership.

So u go ahead and trust the ford mechanics. They will also tell u not to put bigger tires on, and they will tell u that alot more that u can or shouldn't do.

U can put seafoam right into the crankcase, with the oil, its an additive, that's what it has to do with oil, it will clean pistons, rings, etc.
U can also put it into the gas tank, to clean out any water, clean the fuel injectors, etc.
And then u cam put it into the intake, thru a vac line to decarbonize the engine.

Its great stuff, and everyone I know uses it and loves it.

Just go to the website and read about it.

If I am not mistaken, Seafoam is a mix of Kerosene and petroleum products. I do know it is more "harsh" than some of the other stuff out there.

Bosch plugs are for bmws and such. They don't run correctly on rangers. At least for me. I had them for 2 days and my truck like shit. I even pulled each one to make sure correct gapping was used..

I've been running full synthetic since 60,000 miles or since about sept. 2010. My truck runs like a charm on it. Careful though, they recommend a high milage vehicle that's never ran full synthetic us a semi synthetic.

Please be more specific when saying high mileage.

I have a remanufactured rebuilt engine now, woth about 56k.
My truck has about 197k. My transmission has only about 11k since it was rebuilt.

So should I not run full synthetic?

I don't know if they changed the specs or not, but the 92 3.0 I used to own (rip) actually called for Bosch plugs.

Well the engine oil obviously(to my knowledge) isn't going to effect anything besides the engine, I started running full synthetic jn my truck a 60,000. I would say high milage would be 110,000+. an the reason u don't want to use it on an older engine is that there is more wear on the engine and a full synthetic cause a considerable less amount of friction so your parts are going to be more free flowing and cause either a: oil consumption b: damage. I would say your fine with full synthetic at your current mikes( but I'm sure someone else on here could tell u better) if it starts to consume oil or running irregular perhaps try a semi synthetic.

------------------------------------------------

As far as going from synthetic back to conventional, to my knowledge that's a myth that it's bad. As long as you use the correct oil and filter i wouldn't see a problem in going back.
