Re: egr valve
The EGR Valve either has a silver or black top and is located directly behind the throttle body on the side of intake manifold. It has a single wire coming out of a nipple on top. You will need a rather large monkey wrench to remove the bottom connection. Make sure the new Valve comes with a new gasket. You can use brake grease from a tub to seal it.
----------
Clean out the opening to the EGR Valve behind the throttle body. Usually there is a large build up of carbon and it will need to be cleaned by hand and a wire brush with carb. cleaner.
