The 3.0's are pushrod engines, no timing chain.

I was just curious how long it would take it actually is a chain not a belt . I have already bought the chain and gears and all the gaskets.

You should count on it taking the day, or longer, getting the old gasket scraped off and things cleaned up takes time, and you want it right the frist time. the alt, power str pump, air cond compr needs to come off, also remove the radiator, the water pump can be left on the timing cover, and yes, its got a timing chain and gears.

Yeah its a good 6-8 hrs job to change it with hand tools. Also be careful removing the timing cover so not to damage the oil pan gasket. If ya do it needs replacing.

Ask me how know. Lol. It sucks to change the oil pan gaskets.

OHHH i see what your saying, my mistake.

I usually associate timing chains with SOHC engines.
