Default NEED HELP ASAP! throttle sticking

okay so i took my throttle body apart today to clean it and when i start my truck it idles fine. give it gas or rev it then it wont go below 1500 rpms. it only goes back to normal when i go into the engine bay and push the throttle all the way back to idle position. im stumped and need help fast.

If you've got a plastic throttle body like what's found on 01+ 4.0's, you may have harmed the sticky coating on the inside that creates a seal and is causing it to stick open.

Replace the TPS(throttle position sensor). Something may be faulty in the TB where that mounts. Check it all out.

i got that 3.0 haha and i figured the problem, its the cruis control cable that seems to be wanting to not cause it to go all the way back. i have it disconnected for now until i find out what i can do about it

maybe the servo box thing is wacked out and it took a dump at the same time while you were cleaning the TB. Gotta love coincidences.

maybe... ive talked to my girlfriends stepdad about it who owns his own repair shop and he said bring it on in one day and hell check it out
