Default 03 ranger 3.0 with problems

Have changed plugs, wires, coil pack, and O2 sensors. CEL still on and blinking from time to time, especially when accelerating too fast ir going up hill. Has no power when going up hill. Rough idle from time to time. I want some more insight before I go and spend more money. Fuel pump? Coil pack, wires, plugs again? MAF? Please, I need some help

Clean the MAF and idle air control valve. Start there because that's the cheapest. Search the forum on the proper way to clean those two, its important to do it the tight way. Sorry I dont have the link.

Cleaned MAF and idle control. No change. Mechanic doesn't think its injectors because he said it wud throw that code. Thinking possible intake gasket after he has done some research. We can atleast try that and get a good look at the inside of the engine

get a can of starter fluid and spray it around the gaskets and if the engine idles worse you have found your problem and that can cause you to loose power and idle funny as well i had the problem kinda like yours on a differnt motor and it was just a vacum leak and thats how we found it

Umm. Before you do ANYTHING, get the codes read first. That way, you aren't randomly throwing money at things that may or may not fix it.

Well, we have sprayed all around and it doesn't idle higher. He thinks it might b somewhere that the spray can't reach because it has the upper intake then the intake. We have pulled the codes and cleared them. Doesn't take long for truck to start throwing the same codes

----------

We spent 3 hours checking things. Eliminated alot of possibilities but that opens up the door to all kinds of electrical problems or something we might have over looked

You pulled the codes and cleared them.... did you see what the codes were before blindly wiping them out??????

Yes. Cylinders 4,5,6 misfire. Bank 1 too lean. Bank 2 too rich. Coil pack works. Checked compression in all cylinders, that's good. Check plugs and wires, all firing.

Im thinking some bad valves.

120psi on cylinder, 100psi on another and below 100psi on another isnt good compression.

Yeah. That's what we were thinking but he checked the other side with cylinders 1,2,3 and they were the same as 4,5,6. The misfires are only with 4,5,6 tho. Idk man
