Cylinder Missfire

Hey guys, new to the forum and first time post.

I have a 6 cylinder Ford Ranger- 2004 3.0L.

I have had the check engine light on- and off sporadically, got it checked and the computer says my cylinder #4 is missfiring.

I've changed the plug, spark plug wire, power coil. I've run fuel injector cleaner through it 4 times, and valve cleaner in it twice.

I should note that I didn't replace the fuel filter on it for it's first 80,000 miles. A friend of mine says to replace the injector, but i don't want to keep throwing parts at it. Any ideas? Thanks.

i would throw an injector in it. because the fuel injector cleaner doesnt always work. sometimes it makes it worse. but mine did the same thing and i bought a new injector and it fixed the problem. only like 30-40 bucks an injector.

Thanks a lot- will i need a new gasket- and/or anything i should be especially careful about? I'm a beginner at this kind of thing.

I have the same problem.Missfiring ,in 2 cyclinders low compression,master cyclinder leak,valve cover leak. Is it worth fixing? How much? Heard it was a common problem in rangers.
