noise coming from transmission
theres a annoying noise coming from the tranny on my ranger , i went down the car and i noticed that the tickin noise is coming from inside the transmission , even whe the truck is on P or N the noise wont go away , the transmission works fine but the noise is driving me crazy , sounds like theres somethin loose in there....i need helpp pleaseee

the fluid level is OK , the noise goes on n off all the time....idk wat to do

are you 100% sure it is coming from the transmission? How does it shift?

yupp....i went down the car n searched for all other possibilities but whenever i got really close i could even feel it vibrating inside the tranny...the truck shifts good...its not as smooth as new but it does ok...

I am also trying to figure this out. It sounds like there is a loose bolt in the transmission and it is bouncing everywhere. SO ANNOYING. Have you guys figured it out?

Mine does this to. I can really hear it when I am in a drive through close to the wall or say in a DIY car wash. I wish I knew what it was. I am taking it to a mechanic wednesday and he is going to go through everything, even the tranny, ill let yall know if he finds anything loose.
Edit: my motor is a 4.0 though idk if the trannys were different.

Possibly torque converter loose on flywheel

okk...i found the problem on mine...theres steel plate onthe back os the tranny , before the oil pan , mine had 2 missing bolts n bacause of that it was loose n making all the noise...i fixed it myself n now it sounds really smooth....i hope it helps!!!!!
