Re: Fast!
You can take the silencer out of the air filter box, and install a K&N air filter, switching to synthetic oil can help a little also .

Re: Fast!
There is a restricter on the front of the air box that restricts the opening to quiet induction roar, if your year has this type of air box, it is in front of the box, remove the box and snap it out, it helps a little and sounds good once removed. I've done it to mine, there used to be postings on youtube on the process. It's real simple...
----------
This is typically referred to as "AIR BOX " mod

Re: Fast!
not cheap.. but a blower and different gears would help.. a tuner would help... under drive pulley kit, with exhaust would help a little...
just tossing ideas

Re: Fast!
last week i installed a g-force performance chip in my '05 ranger 3.0 and it really seemed to help it a lot. i e-mailed g-force support before i ordered & they said to expect approx. 35-45 hp gain & 3-4 mpg. haven't checked the mpg, but truck runs quieter & stronger. i'm happy with it. the cost of the performance chip is $69 + shipping. go to website gforce.com & check it out & if you have questions send them an email. good luck
